Willa Juanita Ewing was an African American student at Iowa State College.

Life and Education

Willa Ewing received a B.S. in Botany in 1926 and a M.S. in Horticulture in 1935 from Iowa State College. Her Master's thesis was titled, "The Comparative Anatomy of the Leaf of Brassica Juncea (L.) and Its Broadleaved and Curled Varieties". She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.

HBCU Contribution

Willa Ewing worked as the Head of the Biology department at Alabama State University in Montgomery and was in charge of the beautification of the campus grounds.
