Walter Hampton "Honey Boy" Dabney was an African American student that attended Iowa State College.

Life and Education

Walter Hampton Dabney was born in Washington D.C. He received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Howard University. He was a member of Phi Beta Sigma -- where he earned the name "Honey Boy" -- the Engineering Society and the ROTC.

He went on to receive a M.S. in Highways from Iowa State in 1933. He became the Dean of the School of Engineering at Tennessee State University.
